FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry
bodies with Government encouragement in response to the current Building Regulations for England and Wales.
FENSA is the leading brand recognised by consumers, all Local Authorites, industry and Government.
The scheme covers installation of replacement windows and doors in domestic dwellings in England and Wales.
When having windows and doors replaced homeowners must comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure that they get a certificate of compliance. This may be obtained from FENSA or from Local Authority Building Control.
FENSA has registered over 4m jobs with Local Authority Departments across England and Wales. With 27m houselholds in the UK, one out of every 7 households have had a replacement window or door installation undertaken by a FENSA Registered Business.
